みなさん、こんにちは！Discover Englishのヨシコです。 日本とオーストラリアで１０年近く英語学習に打ち込む生徒様のサポートをして参りました。 今は世界中の国からメルボルンに英語を勉強しにくる色んな国籍や経験を持った生徒さんと日々関われるDiscover Englishで毎日楽しくメルボルンでの生活を満喫してます。 世界一住みやすい街に２年連続選ばれたメルボルンはオーストラリアの中でも特に国際色豊かな街で、おしゃれなレストランやカフェ、音楽や文化に溢れています。公共交通機関もしっかりしており、緑も多く、海外で留学生活を送るには最高な場所だと思います！

校長先生からのご挨拶

Tim has been working in the TESOL industry since 1999. He has extensive experience in education and marketing both abroad and in Australia. He has led both large and small teams and excels at creating and maintaining strategic relationships in an international environment. Tim has worked in Australia, Japan, England, China, Korea and Taiwan in a variety of roles. Tim speaks Japanese.

卒業生Aさん　ケンブリッジFCE受講

ディスカバーでは一般英語コース、ケンブリッジファウンデーションコース、ケンブリッジFCEコースで合計9か月勉強しました。 Pre-intermediateレベルからスタートしたのですが、レベルアップのチャンスが毎週あるので、自分のペースで進んでいくことができました。FCEにも無事合格し、ディスカバー卒業後にはTESOLも取得しました！ 帰国後ですが、私は大学を休学してきたので、まずは大学を卒業します。卒業後には英語教師になりたいと思っています。今回の留学経験や取得資格を生かし、「日本の英語教育を変える」ことを目標に、憧れのMark（FCEクラスで担任をしてもらいました）のような教師になりたいです。

Why did you choose to study in Melbourne?

My girlfriend is studying here so I wanted to come and visit her. Now I love Melbourne. I prefer Melbourne to Sydney or somewhere else. Melbourne is a great international city. When I was coming to Melbourne my agent suggested Discover English. They knew the staff and so recommended the college. I was the first student at Discover English.

How did you feel being the first student?

Honestly I felt great because you were all so friendly to me and I love meeting new people. After me a few Korean students joined but everyone speaks English at Discover English so it didn’t matter if I was studying with all French or all Korean. I am happy to meet new people and to share our cultures and I could do that here. What did you like about Discover English? The course was great and the teachers were friendly and really good at explaining grammar and making class fun too. I also liked that we have the chance mix with different cultures in English. Here everyone is accepted, I mean we have an Arabian girl in our class and she has a very different culture but she is our classmate and we can all be friends. Also the location is so great. We have many cafes and department stores just outside the school.

What did you do in your free time while living in Melbourne?

hung out in the city and had fun with friends. I liked some of the clubs too, like Element club for R n B and the Night Cat on Sunday nights for the Salsa. Melbourne has a lot of fun places and international students are really welcome. After Melbourne I am going to go to France to study and then maybe to England to study English again, but I will always love Melbourne. 27th July

Why did you choose to study in Melbourne?

I heard Melbourne is a great city which has a lot of beautiful places and lots of things to do. I am at the end of my working holiday so I wanted to study English before I finish and my agent recommended this school. When I came here the school was so new and modern so I chose Discover English.

What did you do in your free time while you were living in Melbourne?

I will have to work hard when I go home to my country so I hung out with my friends and had a good time while I was in Melbourne. If you can make a good group of friends you’ll find a lot to do. I made new friends when I joined this school.

What did you like about Discover English?

This school has teachers who have enthusiasm for teaching English and a lot of experience and skills. Also all the students are friendly and we can all mix together not just with our classmates. It is a nice school to come to everyday.
